Pierre Marie Lejeune is a self-defined sculptor-drafter whose practice lies at the intersection of design and sculpture. His works, which he self-describes as poetic objects, are often site-specific and found in public spaces. He spends his life between Paris where he was born in 1954 and his atelier in Normandy. Since then, he has unceasingly developed a repertoire of shapes and forms akin to the writing of a constantly evolving virtual alphabet.

He works with steel, glass, light and water favoring the use of raw materials and staying clear of ornaments. His productions are unique pieces or small volume editions realized by art fabrication studios under his close supervision.

Pierre Marie Lejeune has exhibited his works in many renown institutions: Mamac (Nice, France), Arsenal (Metz, France), National Museum of China (Beijing, China), National Gallery (Sofia, Bulgaria), at the Château Malbrouck in Manderen, at the (Belgium)European Sculpture Space) EU’s French presidency, Espace Jacques Villeglé (St-Gratien, France), Seoul Art Center (Seoul Corea) and at the Maison Aragon Elsa Triolet (St-Arnoult, France).

His large steel and mirror sculptures were installed in the heart of the following cities Brussels, Sofia, Shanghai (People’s Square), Imjingak Paju City (Korea), Nice (promenade des Anglais), Metz (place d’Armes), Boulogne-Billancourt, Auvers-sur-Oise, Santo Tirso (Portugal), San Diego (Ca), la Commanderie de Peyrassol and more recently, in 2017, at la Patinoire Royale (Brussells) and the Suzhou Art Center (China) where he installed a fountain.

Pierre Marie Lejeune has realized numerous projects and commissions in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France), the United States (California), China and South Korea. His work is regularly displayed in major galleries in both Europe and Asia.
