Jasmine Pradissitto x Carrie Jenkinson’s Ascot hat
Ascot Racecourse is all about horses… and Fascinators! Last year, Carrie Jenkinson’s Ascot Fascinators were featured in every national newspaper 5 days in a row. This year, she’s teaming up with the artist Jasmine Pradissitto, whose work is an inspiration to create global change through everyday small sustainable changes.
Raising awareness on sustainability by wearing a one-of-a-kind Fascinator
According to royal protocol, women must wear hats to all official occasions. And on most occasions, the Royals put Carrie Jenkinson’s hats on the fashion map, along with an increasing list of celebrities. Being worn by the Royals is a sign of impeccable style and inspiration.
Why not inspire and raise awareness of the burning issue of sustainability? This collaboration aims to address how concerned we should be about Nature, all the species, human and animals and the fragility of the balance. And our role in sustainability. The recycled-plastic material used by Jasmine is completely integrated into Carrie’s material to create an astonishing piece of millinery holding a message.
Carrie Jenkinson, the Award Winning Royal Milliner
In 2013, Carrie was approached to design 2 masks for a charity masquerade ball. The mask was displayed in Sotheby’s and then purchased for £1,000 each helping to raise over £600,000. Naturally, she got interested by an artistic collaboration that would meet environmental awareness.
Jasmine Pradissitto, the quantum artist
Both artist and physicist, Jasmine uses recycled plastic for her sculptures in light, to embrace the dual world of science and art. The butterflies are an analogy for the necessary journey of suffering and change to enlightenment, as well as the necessity to us to change our behaviour towards our mother earth.
